More About Us…
Established in 1999 as Nerstrand Excavating, Inc., we started out mainly installing septic systems and performing associated septic services. In 2000 we expanded and purchased Behrens Excavating, which allowed us to move more into digging basements. As an excavation company based in Southern Minnesota we mostly dug basements for new home construction throughout the growing Northfield and Faribault areas.
Over time, we diversified into working directly with government agencies including the Minnesota DNR, the State of Minnesota, Rice County, Goodhue County, and various local townships. Building working relationships with these agencies, we perform roadwork, water main services, bridge services, demolition work, site preparation, culvert installation, and more.
Today at Nerstrand Excavating we specialize in all areas of septic contracting and excavation services.
